Before you arrange a meeting it is advisable to discuss with all the members of the household what you want out of your garden. This includes types (or styles) of plants and hard landscaping you may like, to the style of finish. If possible, everyone who uses the garden space should be at the consultation meeting. It is always advisable to find out if your property is listed or in a conservation area as plans may have to be approved. It's also sometimes helpful for you to prioritize your wish list so that we know what's really important to you.
The cost of the garden design can vary according to (the complexity of) your requirements and the size of space which you are intending to have landscaped. The finished scheme must work on many levels including constructability and durability which often takes longer than formulating the concept.
Most clients will have a budget in mind. It is important for us to be realistic about what you want to achieve and the amount you want to invest. After we have discussed your goal we will then be able to advise you if your budget is realistic for meeting the projects requirements. As we handle all of the designing and construction in house, we are in a better position to calculate the design to keep with your budget. As with all building works, it always pays to have a bit of a contingency!
Your garden can be designed any time of year. Please bear in mind the likely timeframe to completion of your project and its readiness for use. We ideally recommend you contact us in January, as the garden can be built by the spring and settled in for summer use.
The design process can vary depending the size of the project. As a rough guide, it can take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks. It can be shorter or longer depending on the size and complexity of the space you are wishing to have landscaped.
